WC Foundation golf tourney sets record

October 9, 2024
Four people playing golf on a sunny day, with lush trees in the background and a stone ledge in the foreground.

The 2024 Weatherford College Foundation Golf Tournament, presented by Impact Mechanical, set an event record with approximately $40,000 in net proceeds. The funds will support the foundation’s efforts to raise scholarship dollars and other support for the college and its students.

The event, held at WC’s Canyon West Golf Course on Oct. 3, was the 24th annual tournament benefiting the foundation.

“What a great day for golf and for WC,” said Susan Sodek, event organizer. “Canyon West is in incredible shape, and we had amazing volunteers. I do want to thank our sponsors for their generosity. It was a wonderful day.”

The First Financial Bank team took first place, shooting a 53 in the four-person scramble. The team was made up of Mike Davis, Will Fluitt, Colton Peacock and Blake Posey.

Impact Mechanical was the event’s title sponsor. Platinum Sponsors were CBRE, Huckabee, Imperial Construction, Johnson Controls, and Southwest Ford. Gold Sponsors included BibliU, Brandt Companies, First Bank Texas, First Financial Bank, First Financial Trust, Follow Our Lead, North Side Baptist Church, Prosperity Bank, and Texas Bank. Silver Sponsors were Back Home Bakery, Gough Wealth Management, Jacy Guynes State Farm Insurance and Roadrunner Charters.
