Action Orientation
“Do you want to know who you are? Don’t ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you,” said Thomas Jefferson. Our communities are growing at an unparalleled pace. What kind of future do we want? Do we want our highways to more closely resemble congested parking lots, or do we want our thriving business communities to experience catastrophic shortages of qualified laborers?
Our actions will directly shape not only our future, but the future of our children and grandchildren. The actions of those who went before us led to the growth that Texas now enjoys. Our region of the state is enjoying a level of growth and economic prosperity that is the envy of much of the country. How we deal with that success will impact both the continued prosperity and living conditions of our home for decades to come.
As the fastest-growing college in North Texas, Weatherford College takes these questions very seriously. We are acting aggressively now in an effort to not only meet the immediate educational needs of an ever-increasing number of students, but to also meet the seemingly insatiable demand for skilled workers from our flourishing business communities. Our existing workforce programs are growing exponentially, and we continue to add new workforce programs each year. Additionally, we offer high quality bachelor’s degrees at less than half of the price of the most affordable university-based programs. Weatherford College is a place where ordinary people do extraordinary things.
Our region of the state has become a highly desirable destination location for both companies and individual families alike. Will Rogers stated, “Chaotic action is preferable to orderly inaction.” Now is the time for us to scale the successful lessons of the past and to build capacity for the increased demands of the future. If we are to remain a leader in the great state of Texas and beyond, now is the time to act.
