A Breath of Fresh Air

Fresh air can be so invigorating. Whether it is cool, crisp air on a mountain top or an ocean breeze at the beach, fresh air rejuvenates both mind and body. It is almost strange how a change of setting and a deep breath of clean air can do wonders for physical and mental health.
The current generation of college students faces all of the traditional college age challenges. They are looking to find their place in the world, some are searching for love, and others are just trying to survive and pass their classes.
In addition to traditional challenges, the current generation of college students faces a world of intense social media peer pressure. They wonder if their future occupations that they are working so hard to achieve will one day be replaced by artificial intelligence. They face challenges that my generation could not have even conceived.
Yet despite these layers of uncertainty, this generation has a remarkable and refreshing sense of optimism about the future. They have good reason. Weatherford College now has more scholarship and financial assistance opportunities than ever before. WC provides more expansive educational opportunities than at any time in its storied history. Bachelor’s degrees and graduate degree transfer opportunities are yet additional new opportunities.
I find this generation’s choice to focus on expansive opportunities rather than increased challenges very refreshing. Simply put, it is a breath of fresh air.
