Welcome from President Farmer

Dr. Farmer welcomes students on first day of Fall 2019

Dear Students,

You and your success are the reason that we are here! Welcome to those of you who are first time students to Weatherford College, and welcome back returning students. It has been a real pleasure to getting to know so many of you. Hearing about your goals and dreams is exciting! Please know that we are all here to help you make those dreams become reality.

As you begin the Fall 2019 semester, please make sure that you are communicating well with your professors regarding any academic challenges that you might be facing. I also encourage you to get involved in Student Life. Weatherford College provides many co-curricular opportunities that will assist in your academic pursuits. August 26th through August 28th is Welcome Week. Enjoy the festivities, meet new people, and learn about opportunities to get involved on campus. This year is the 150th anniversary of the founding of Weatherford College. We will be having a sesquicentennial birthday party for students on August 27th at 11:00 a.m. in front of the Speaker Jim Wright Library. Come join the fun!

Additionally, know that the Academic Support Center is here to assist you. Please don’t be shy about accepting our offer to help you succeed. Finally, if you are interested in a part time job, Weatherford College has work-study jobs available to those who qualify. These jobs pay above the minimum wage. Rayanne Hukill from the Financial Aid Office can provide you with details.

You are collectively off to a great start this fall! Keep up the great work. Have fun, work hard, and make your dreams come true.

Finally, please be aware that our fall cookout at the Memorial Plaza Amphitheatre (circle drive) has been scheduled for Tuesday, October 8, 2019  (11 a.m. - 2 p.m.).  I hope to see many of you there. If your schedule allows, please swing by and say hello…and bring an appetite.

Kindest regards,

Tod Allen Farmer
