WC Spotlight - Joshua Winebrinner

WC Spotlight - Joshua WinebrinnerName:  Joshua Winebrinner

Hometown:  Bridgeport

Are you a scholarship recipient?  Yes, I received a scholarship in high school from the National Honor Society and then later in my WCWC career from the Bridgeport Lions Club. Both of these were unexpected though, since I didn’t apply for either of them.

What is the best part of attending WC?  There are many great things about WCWC. The things that I am going to remember from here will be the great teachers, the great staff, my friends I have made here, the game room and the low cost of attendance which does not reflect on the value of the material learned here.

How was your experience at the WC Wise County Campus?  It was a great experience. I recommend it to everyone who’s looking to start college. I cannot stress enough of how helpful everyone here was and was always eager to be of assistance, it was also a very cheap choice, I don’t understand people who go spend more for basics. I have learned so much while I have attended here; with great teachers it is hard to forget what they teach you!

Who has been your greatest mentor?  My parents, they have raised me to the person I am today. Without their guidance and discipline I would not be who I am or I would not be where I am today without them. They have taught me many things throughout my life, but if there were one thing that they have taught me it would be to always be a kind person to the one around me, aka: the golden rule.

What are your post-WC plans?  My original plans were to try and attend UNT after I got the money around to do so, but that was before I decided to accept an internship offer down in Florida at Walt Disney World.

When did you apply to the Disney intern program and what prompted that decision?  I applied about a year ago and got denied, but I applied again in about September in hopes to getting the position and I got accepted! I learned about it from my friend Felicia Cloke, she was the one who told me about the program, and I was instantly hooked on the idea.

What do you hope to gain from your Disney experience?  I hope to unveil what my calling is in life, seeing that I have no idea what I want to do yet.

Do you know what your job will be once you arrive in Orlando?  I will be working in the recreation area of the park

How long will this internship last?  It will last for about six months, but I have the chance to extend the internship.

When did your interest in Disney begin?  At a very young age, as long as I can remember.

What are your plans after this internship is completed?  Hopefully to continue with Disney and make a career out of it, if not though probably come back and start working so I can continue my education at UNT.
