Hometown:  Mineral Wells

Are you a scholarship recipient?  Yes, from the Strawn Lions Club.

What is your anticipated course of study?  A math major and eventually a high school teaching certification.

What prompted you to choose this course of study?  I want to help people, and typically math is where everyone struggles.

What is the best part of participating in the Upward Bound program?  Interacting with the teachers and students. The summer classes are fantastic.

Would you recommend the Upward Bound program to other students? Definitely. It simultaneously helps your social skills and prepares you for college! You can never really go wrong with free college.

What are you most looking forward to as a WC student?  I have heard immensely positive opinions on most of the teachers here. The whole place is very warm and welcoming.

What are your post-WC plans?  I plan to go to Stephen F. Austin and finish my bachelors in math and education.

What are your favorite things to do when you are not at school or studying?  I am a huge nerd. Anything that nerds do, I probably do also – gaming, watching anime, etc.

What is your dream job?  As of today, I want to be a high school teacher.

Who has been your greatest mentor?  My dad, Jon Seymore. He came from a low-income family and raised his own without a college education but with hard work and determination.

What is your favorite band?  It’s a tie between Imagine Dragons and Jon Bellion.
