Hometown:  Springtown

Are you a scholarship recipient?  Yes, the Stuart Family Scholarship and the Springtown Education Foundation.

What is your anticipated course of study?  Elementary education

What prompted you to choose this course of study?  My pre-k teacher left a great impression and made me want to be a teacher.

What is the best part of participating in the Upward Bound program?  I believe it is getting the privilege of having such wonderful help on getting into college.

Would you recommend the Upward Bound program to other students?  Yes. It’s a great learning experience as well as a fun way to get to be social.

What are your post-WC plans?  I plan to transfer to Tarleton after I get my core classes done at Weatherford College.

What are your favorite things to do when you are not at school or studying?  I like to play sports like soccer and spend time with the people I care about.

What is your dream job?  My dream job is to become a kindergarten teacher.

Who has been your greatest mentor?  My parents. They have always supported me. Also, Jeff Kahlden (WC’s Upward Bound Director) because he helped me throughout high school. He has been like a parental figure to me. He has always kept me on top of my grades and applications needed for a successful start in furthering my education after high school. Without Jeff, I would be struggling so much. I would not know any of the things I now know about college.

What is your favorite song?  “Five More Minutes” by Scotty McCreery

How important was affordability when choosing to attend WC?  It was very important, because I come from a family with some financial difficulties; however, we always find a way to get through them.
