What prompted you to choose your current course of study? I always knew I wanted to help people, so it was a great course of study for me to follow.
Which scholarships have you received? Dr. Sumant and Sheela Kumar and the Glenda Reynolds Memorial Scholarship
How does this scholarship help you in your pursuit of a higher education? With a 3-year-old and going to school full time, it is difficult on a daily basis financially but because of these scholarships they will help me not only financially, but emotionally as well. I am very thankful for such giving people.
What is the best part of attending WC? The best part is to talk and see everyone at the college who come from different parts of Texas and walks of life.
Are you involved with any WC clubs or organizations? Currently, I am not. I am joining Phi Theta Kappa here soon, and I am also doing online modules to become a volunteer through the American Red cross here in North Texas.
What are your post WC plans? I will take as many courses as I can take at WC, and, as of now, I am doing an online partnership with Midwestern State University. Once I receive a bachelor’s degree, I will apply to UNT to become a practicing Physician Assistant.
What are your favorite things to do when you are not at school or studying? I love films, movies and love to think about the filmography and plot of them. I also love to read fiction, and I like to take jogs.
What is your dream job? My dream job is to help the underdeveloped communities of the world, starting with the U.S. I would also like to provide entertainment to communities because I believe music can heal wounds emotionally.
Who has been your greatest hero? My parents are my greatest heroes. They have shown that working hard for what one wants and needs will in the end work out positively.
What is your favorite movie? "Goodwill Hunting," "Hacksaw Ridge," and "Perks of Being a Wallflower," they are some of my favorite movies.
What has been your favorite course so far at WC? My favorite course was my summer clinical rotations that were 12-hour clinicals, which made us students understand what respiratory therapists do in a regular work shift.
How would you describe the quality of education you have received at WC? It has been far more than amazing. All the instructors truly care about their students and ask if they need anything further explained.
