What is the best part of attending WC? The overwhelming helpfulness of everyone on campus and the amount of care each student receives.
What are your post-WC plans? To become a Medical Sonographer and to help others through ultrasound technology.
What are your favorite things to do when you are not at school or studying? I enjoy reading, crocheting, working in the flower beds and visiting with my friends and family.
Who has been your greatest mentor? Of the many people who have helped and supported me, Mrs. Edna supported me the most. I worked for her for a little over a year, and she was constantly asking me when I was going to go to college. At 98 years old, she valued education and knowledge highly and convinced me to enroll at Weatherford College. Through the semesters she encouraged me and helped me realize my goals. I couldn't have asked for a better friend.
What is your favorite book? “The Count of Monte Cristo,” by Alexandre Dumas
How important was affordability when choosing to attend WC? In choosing a college, I knew that I would need to use my funds wisely. By choosing Weatherford College, I am able to ensure that I will receive quality education without sacrificing financial stability.
How would you describe the campus life experience you’ve had at WC? I love the feel of the campus. It is always friendly and welcoming. There are many activities going on all the time that allow everyone to be a part of the campus.
How would you describe the quality of education you have received at WC? The classes at Weatherford have been wonderful. The professors clearly love their subjects and enjoy explaining them to their students. In my first semester, Professor Taylor and Professor Cheney really encouraged my love for math and science through their own love for the subjects they teach. This type of passion for learning is really something special that I have found at Weatherford College.
How would you describe the individual attention you have received at WC? The care I have received at Weatherford College has been astounding. Every member of staff goes out of their way to help you suceed. There are so many helpful resources from the Academic Support Center to the Career and Transfer Center that make it a priority to help every student that comes in.
