Why did you choose Weatherford College?  I chose Weatherford College for many reasons, the main one being family-oriented. Every person in my family has attended Weatherford College for their first two years of college, and I know personally that it is a very smart idea to attend my home town college both financially and educational. I have grown up in Weatherford my whole life and it means so much to me to continue my education past high school here in Weatherford as well. My sister and mother always talk about how amazing the courses and professors are at Weatherford College and I am blessed to of been able to know some of the professors personally.

What field are you interested in pursuing?  I have always had a very fond interest in nature and animals since I was a very young girl. My mother and father would always tell people that I have a “special touch” when it comes to animals. If there was ever a shy dog who never let anyone pet them or a sick cat that wouldn’t eat, I could fix them and become their best friend within a few minutes. Once I got into high school and started taking agriculture classes, I was around a wider variety of animals quite often. This is really what made me realize that I wanted to do something in the veterinarian field. I started talking with my agriculture teachers and they got me internships to veterinary clinics all around town. I interned at eight different clinics over a span of three years. I earned my CVA and plan to become a Veterinarian Technician through Weatherford College. Any field involving animals has always caught my eye but helping them and relieving them of their hurt is something that will always hold a special place within my heart.

How is your scholarship going to impact your life?  It will allow me not to have to take out student loans and not have an ounce of debt when I graduate from college. It allows me to even afford college in the first place. I have been told all my life to start applying for scholarships as early as possible and to be looking out for those that are targeted at my specific college of choice. As soon as this application opened up, I began filling out all the information and spent a lot of time perfecting my application to ensure I would be fit for at least one scholarship.
