Keynote Speaker: Holly Ordway of Houston Baptist University

  • Dr. Ordway will give two keynote lectures on philosophy of religion and art;
    “Tolkien and the Function of Fantasy,” and “Metaphor and Meaning: The
    Role of Imagination in Communication about Philosophy and Religion.”
  • Conference registration for WC faculty/staff/students is FREE.
  • Conference registration for all others is $35.
  • Banquet tickets (for all who choose to attend the banquet) is $15/ticket.

Call for Papers/Proposals ~ Due February 22 

  • A call for papers is being extended to professional philosophers, professionals interested in philosophy of religion, or students of philosophy of religion as well as any professional or student in a field intersecting philosophy of religion and art. Any proposal on the conference theme is welcome, including but not limited to the nature of the relationship between philosophy of religion and art, aesthetics and philosophy of religion, the role of language, imagination, or literature in philosophy of religion, the impact of culture on religion and vice versa, and theological, atheological, or apatheological philosophy related to the nature of art. While proposals on the conference theme will be given special consideration, any proposal on any topic related to philosophy of religion will be considered. Presenters are encouraged to submit a full version of their paper for consideration in a possible published volume.
  • Proposals must be 250-350 words.
  • Presentations will be limited to a 50 minute time frame (approximately 30 minutes for presentation and 20 for Q & A).
