The Weatherford College Vascular Certificate Program is a two-course curriculum consisting of online classroom lectures and on campus scanning lab learning experiences. The course of study is comprised of 6 semester credit hours and is designed to provide basic vascular skills for practicing Sonographers / Echocardiographers. This course is offered to graduates of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or credentialed Sonographers desiring to acquire Vascular Sonography skills.
Program Goals
The goal of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program is to prepare competent entry-level vascular sonographers in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.
Career Opportunities
According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, “employment of diagnostic medical sonographers is expected to increase by about 44% through 2020.”
