The Child Care Provider Certificate Program at Weatherford College fully supports early childhood professionals in both registered family home and center based early childhood facilities by providing the highest level of academic courses and professional development. WC is committed to offering highly relevant career-based courses that meet both state and national standards to equip students in their desire to becoming effective early childhood professionals.
The Child Care Provider/Assistant Certificate is intended for individuals who plan to work in a child care center. This 28-hour certificate is technical and includes some courses that do not transfer to universities. The courses for each semester are designed to complement each other in terms of content taught and assignments. Students may begin coursework in the fall cohort or the spring cohort and each semester of coursework includes at least one hybrid (face-to-face and online) class while others are offered in an online format. Students are expected to complete observation or field experience hours throughout enrollment in the program.
Admission to the program requires:
- The passage of a background check
- Proof of general good health from a physician
- Proof of education level
- T.B. screening
