Weatherford College Upward Bound provides fundamental support to participants in their groundwork for college entrance. The federally funded program provides opportunities for students to succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. WC Upward Bound serves Graford, Gordon, Millsap, Mineral Wells, and Springtown High Schools. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.
WC Upward Bound provides academic instruction in mathematics, laboratory sciences, composition, literature, and foreign languages. The tutoring, counseling, mentoring, cultural enrichment, work-study programs, education services are designed to improve students’ success in high school and beyond. The program is specially intended for students who are from groups that are traditionally underrepresented in postsecondary education. From junior college to Ivy League, WC UB presents the tools each student needs to flourish.
