Early Admissions & Dual Credit

Early Admissions (College Credit Only)

Many high school students are eligible to take college classes prior to high school graduation. These students are considered early admission students. Early admission students, NOT simultaneously enrolled at Weatherford College and a local, public high school, may receive college credit only and must meet all admission requirements to Weatherford College. In order to take college courses as a high school student, early admission students must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a high school junior or senior.
  • Submit an online ApplyTexas application (your social security number is required to process the WC application). See "How to Submit an ApplyTexas application" instructions.
  • Complete the Weatherford College Early Admissions/Dual Credit Application with the appropriate signatures. You may submit the appropriate forms to a local Early Admissions/Dual Credit office (see contact information below).
  • Submit qualifying placement test scores – visit with a WC advisor for questions regarding college readiness eligibility. Students must be TSI (Texas Success Initiative) compliant before registering for classes.
  • Submit a current high school transcript to your local Early Admissions/Dual Credit office.
  • Complete IRS form W-95 for social security number verification.
  • Register online at MyWC (see instructions on the Early Admissions/Dual Credit checklist),
  • Pay online through MyWC and “Campus Connect,” at your local WC Educational Center, or call the WC Business Office (817-598-6265). Payments made in the Business Office must be for full payments only. Forms of payment accepted are cash, check (please note the student’s name and WC ID on the check), or credit card (Visa, MC, Discover or Amex). Be aware of payment deadlines.
  • Early admission students, NOT simultaneously enrolled at Weatherford College and a local, public high school, pay the standard tuition and lab fees for all academic courses and must purchase the required textbooks for all college classes.
  • Purchase textbook(s) at the WC Bookstore (817-598-6286), online through MyWC, or Weatherfordbooks.com, or at your local WC Educational Center (see contact information below).

High School Dual Credit (High school and College credit)

A dual credit student enrolls in a college course and receives simultaneous academic credit for the course from both the college and the local, public high school. These courses are offered at service area high schools, online, and/or at one of the Weatherford College campuses. Dual Credit students must meet the following requirements.

  • Be a high school junior, senior, or receive exceptional student status from your HS counselor.
  • Visit with your high school counselor to determine available classes at your school, online, and/or one of the WC campuses.
  • Submit an online ApplyTexas Application (your social security number is required to process the WC application) See "How to Submit an ApplyTexas application" instructions.
  • Complete an Early Admissions/Dual Credit Application, which includes material that must be signed by you, your parent, and your high school representative to your counselor or a local Early Admissions/Dual Credit office (see contact information below).
  • Submit qualifying placement test scores – visit with your counselor for questions regarding college readiness eligibility. Students must be TSI (Texas Success Initiative) compliant before registering for classes.
