Adult Echocardiography Certificate

The Weatherford College Echocardiography Certificate Program is a two-semester curriculum comprised of classroom, laboratory, and clinical learning experiences. The course of study is comprised of 24 semester-credit hours and is designed to prepare individuals for careers as adult cardiac sonographers. This course is offered to graduates of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program who are interested in expanding their professional repertoire to include adult echocardiography.

Program Goals

To prepare competent entry-level adult cardiac sonographers in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.

Career Opportunities

According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of diagnostic medical sonographers is expected to increase by about 23% through 2026.
