Welcome! Your library is here for you:

  • We are The Speaker Jim Wright Library
  • The library is named for the the notable alumnus Speaker Jim Wright, an American politician who served as the 48th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1987 to 1989. He represented Texas's 12th congressional district as a Democrat from 1955 to 1989.
  • Since 1869, a library has been part of the history of Weatherford College. Donations of books and even Congressional Records started to fill books shelves.
  • Our collection now includes more than 40,000 physical items as well as more than 68 research databases with access to millions of journal articles, e-books, and streaming videos
  • The current building opened in 1969; it was been renovated over the years to add computer workstations, comfortable seating, study rooms, a conference room, and a classroom.
  • We are located in the center of the campus
  • Inside you'll find two floors with lots of study space, quiet nooks, and over 100 computer PC workstations
  • Not on campus? We are still here to help...
    • with virtual resources and services including online tutorials and email help.
    • with physical library resources on each Weatherford College campus: Wise County Campus and Education Center at Granbury
