Young Frankenstein auditions set for Sept. 5 and 6

Young Frankenstein auditions.

Auditions for Young Frankenstein, the fall musical production at Weatherford College, are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, and Saturday, Sept. 6, in the Alkek Fine Arts Center.

Community members and WC students, ages 16 and up, are welcome to audition either day. For more information, contact Joseph Nicikowski at 817-598-6403 or jnicikowski@wc.edu.

Following the story line of the movie by the same name, Young Frankenstein is a horror film parody with emphasis on the 1930s Frankenstein films. The story follows Dr. Frankenstein’s grandson as he repeats his relative’s experiments after inheriting his grandfather’s castle.

Young Frankenstein is written by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan with music and lyrics also by Mel Brooks. This production is rated PG-13. Viewer discretion is advised.

Performances are scheduled for Oct. 30 through Nov. 2 in the Alkek Fine Arts Center. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m. except for the Nov. 2 show which starts at 2 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes before show time. Admission is free.

A food drive is being held in conjunction with this performance. Please bring a non-perishable or animal food item for donation.
