The Weatherford College Choir will showcase the music of composer Eric Whitacre on Tuesday, April 29. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Alkek Fine Arts Center. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show is free.
“Whitacre's music stands at the cutting edge of contemporary classical music,” Choir Director Rob Laney said. “In the choral world he is a rock star. The choir has been enjoying the subtly poignant poetry and teasing chord clusters that his music evokes.”
To meet the challenge of Whitacre’s romantic and dissonant music, Weatherford College is partnering with the Eastfield College Choir and director Melinda Imthurn.
“I encourage all to come experience this one of a kind choral concert,” Laney said.
