The Kent Miller and Quinton Reeves Honorary Lecture Series returns to Weatherford College this academic year with a variety of speakers and topics and is open to the public.
Join Dr. Scott Tarnowiecki, chair of the WC Social Sciences Department, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, in room 125 of the Jack Knight Building for “Shattering the Peace: The beginning of irregular warfare in the Green River country of Kentucky during the Civil War.”
On Tuesday, Nov. 14 Suneye Holmes presents “The Border Economy: Walls, Weather and Immigration.” Holmes’ lecture will begin at 3 p.m. in room 209 of the Jim and Veleda Boyd Technology Building (TECH).
In the spring semester, Tom Wells will present “Abraham Lincoln: The Power of Language” at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb 12, in TECH 209.
In March, join a panel discussion analyzing President Trump’s first year hosted by WC political science faculty members in Mince I on the first floor of the E.W. Mince Administration Building. The date for this event is not yet set.
The lecture series finishes with “The Cold War and North Texas” presented by Nick Pugh at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, in TECH 209.
