WC presents "The Secret in the Wings"

The time is now, the setting is a basement and the storyline is completely nonlinear. Come on a journey through a series of obscure fairy tales as the Weatherford College Fine Arts and Communication Department presents The Secret in the Wings April 28-30 and May 1 in the Alkek Fine Arts Center.

“These tales are not glossed over or watered down; their original content is intact and a far cry from the fluffy versions of what we are used to today,” said Director James Brownlee. “They are, nonetheless, strikingly beautiful and not completely devoid of happy endings.

“Our childhood fears – abandonment by our parents, the monster in the corner, being lost – are examined by this piece in a way that we hope will ring truthfully and pleasantly (if not a bit uncomfortably) as they dissipate into thin air as quickly as they appear.”

The cast for this drama includes: Jewelia Emery, Elizabeth Ramsey, J.D. Choate, Marion Lott, Joshua Davis, Tyler Carlson, Patti Sue Noe, Manny Garcia, Niquel Barnett and Tyler Livingston.

The crew includes: James Brownlee, director, sound design and properties master; Tamara O’Conner, assistant director and stage manager; Patti Sue Noe, music director; Joseph Nicikowski, set and lighting design and technical director; Kristen Monroe, costume design; and Schyler Douglas, board operator

Show times for the Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances are 7:30 p.m. The Sunday show begins at 2:00 p.m. Doors open a half hour early, and admission is free.
