WC named Large Business of the Year by EPC Chamber

2019 EPC Chamber Award

Weatherford College was named Large Business of the Year Thursday evening at the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce annual awards banquet held at The Springs in Weatherford.

WC is one of the largest employers in Parker County with 579 employees. Chris Bonnett of the Southwest Auto Group announced WC as the Large Business winner highlighting the college’s retention of employees through a positive work environment and generous benefits.

The award also highlighted the college’s variety of innovative programs designed to further individuals’ educational pursuits, which positively impacts the economic health of the community.

“This large business of the year has not only changed the community, but has been changing lives for 150 years,” Bonnett said.

Dr. Tod Allen Farmer, WC president, accepted the award along with several members of the WC Board of Trustees and employees.

“Weatherford College is a success because of our board of trustees, our 579 employees and because of all of you,” Farmer said. “Weatherford College is your college. We are here to support your businesses, educate your employees and provide you with a very highly-trained workforce. If you are happy with what’s happening at Weatherford College, just know we’re just getting started. Thank you very much for this award.”
