The community is invited to the Weatherford College Coyote Family Picnic on Saturday, March 23, as part of the college’s ongoing sesquicentennial celebration.
The fun starts at noon in the field on the north side of Roger Williams Ballpark. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and their picnic baskets. For those who wish to purchase lunch, food trucks from Smokin’ J BBQ, Juliebeans Ice Cream, Pop’s Kettle Corn and Sandy V’s Teas ‘n Things will be on site.
WC 150th promotional items, peach cobbler and drinks will be available for free to the first 300 attendees.
Current WC students will perform from noon to 1 p.m., and country music artist and WC alumnus Wynn Williams will perform a free concert at 1 p.m.
The afternoon continues with a Coyote baseball doubleheader at 2 p.m. against Vernon College. General admission to the baseball game is $5 and free to WC students, senior citizens and children 12 and under.
Parking is available across the street in the main campus parking lot, and there will be escorts ensuring the safety of people as they cross the street. The main campus entrance east of the Alkek Fine Arts Center is closed for roundabout construction.
