Weatherford College’s newest guitar instructor, Will Douglas, recently returned from Ontario where he assisted in judging the Guitar Hamilton International Guitar Competition where he also led master classes in baroque guitar performance.
“The competition was pretty fierce,” Douglas said. “The final round came down to three Canadians and one American with the top prize being awarded to Adam Batstone of Canada.”
Douglas said it was an amazing festival. “It was a distinct honor to be counted amongst these incredible musicians and scholars,” he said.
Back at WC, Douglas continues his summer guitar lessons and encourages any student interested in the instrument to speak with him. All levels are welcome.
“I am very happy and excited to be part of the Weatherford College family,” he said.
Douglas finished his Masters in Music Performance degree at the University of North Texas and has since returned from the graduate diploma program in Eliot Fisk's studio at The New England Conservatory of Music in Boston to seek his Doctorate of Musical Arts degree at UNT.
