The Weatherford College Education Center at Granbury will host a hands-on financial aid workshop for parents and students at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 6.
The workshop will help students and parents complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Students and their parents must attend and provide the proper documentation in order to complete the application. Parents should bring their 2014 tax documentation or they can use the IRS tool available in the online form to retrieve their tax information automatically.
“The submission of this online application does not obligate parents to take out loans or fund their students’ college education,” said Dr. David Russell, Associate Dean of the WC Education Center at Granbury. “The FAFSA application, however, is required to access all levels of funding for education whether state, federal or local college aid such as scholarships.”
The priority deadline to submit the FAFSA and any required documents is June 21. Eligible students must meet this deadline to ensure processing in time to pay tuition and other fees for the fall 2015 semester.
A WC financial aid representative will be available to answer questions and lead the workshop.
