William Shakespeare’s the “Twelfth Night” takes the stage in Weatherford College’s Alkek Fine Arts Center this weekend.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Aug. 16 through Aug. 18. Doors open at 7 p.m. and admission is free.
Viola and Sebastian are identical twins of noble birth. Shipwrecked and separated on the coast of Illyria, each presumes the other dead. For her safety, Viola disguises herself as a man and enters into the service of the Count Orsino, who is in love with the beautiful Countess Olivia.
Much trouble and hilarity ensues when Olivia falls in love with Viola (thinking her to be a man). The situation is further worsened when Oliva’s drunken uncle, Sir Toby Belch, and his less-than-reputable companions decide to play cruel pranks on Viola and Olivia’s steward, Malvolio.
“This is Shakespeare at his finest in this madcap comedy of unrequited love and mistaken identity,” said Director James Brownlee.
The cast features Pattie Sue Noe as Viola, Reudi Noe as Sebastian, Joshua Allen as Valentine and Orsino’s officer, Angel Sandlin as Curio and Orsino’s officer, Zachary Crawford as Orsino, Hayley Vantine as Olivia, Cody Henderson as Malvolio, William Franklin as Feste, Garrison Chipps as Fabian, Faith Melton as Antonio, Tamra O’Connor as Captain/Priest, Sarah Lee as Sir Andrew Aguecheek, James Brownlee as Sir Toby Belch and Erin Brownlee as Maria.
