WC Commencement Ceremonies set for May 9

WC graduation.

Approximately 350 graduates are expected to walk across the stage Saturday, May 9, after completing their associate’s degrees at Weatherford College.

Two ceremonies are planned for the Jerry Durant Auditorium at Weatherford High School to celebrate the success of these graduates. The 10 a.m. ceremony is for those graduating with an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science and Associate in Arts Teaching degrees. At 2 p.m. those earning their Associate in Applied Sciences and Certificate Program Completers will graduate.

This year’s highlighted speaker for both ceremonies is Tracey “Rocco” Davidson, 2015 Weatherford College Graduate and Student Body President.

Approximately 60 percent of these graduates are transferring to four-year universities for further studies. The remaining graduates are ready to enter the workforce in fields such as health sciences, fire science, public service, social service/counseling, technology, business and agriculture.

“It is always so gratifying to see the excitement in the eyes of our graduates as they walk across the stage to receive their degree,” said Dr. Richard Bowers, WC Vice President of Instruction and Student Services. “These students have worked very hard to reach this goal and can look forward to new opportunities as a result. Graduation is a time of celebration and will be well deserved.”

All guests will be required to have a ticket to enter the event. For more information, call 817-598-6218.
