Fireworks will light up the sky above Weatherford College on Saturday, April 27, as part of the continuing celebration of WC’s 150th anniversary year.
The Sesquicentennial Fireworks Show, presented by the Coyote Baseball Booster Club, will take place at dusk after the second game of a doubleheader with Ranger College. The first game begins at 2 p.m. at Roger Williams Ballpark.
“This is a great opportunity for our program to take part in the celebration of the 150th year of Weatherford College,” said Jeff Lightfoot, WC head baseball coach. “I can’t wait to see the stands full of rowdy Coyote fans for this big conference series.”
Pyro Shows of Texas, the vendor hired by the City of Weatherford and the City of Hudson Oaks for their Fourth of July events, will conduct the WC show with supervision from the city fire marshal.
Clark Real Estate Group, D-Bat of Weatherford and Lightfoot Mechanical, Inc. have made the event possible with sponsorships.
“Williams Ballpark is a great venue to watch college baseball,” Lightfoot said. “A fireworks show and the pageantry of baseball is a perfect marriage. I hope all of Parker County and the surrounding area will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.”
General admission game tickets are $5 at the gate for adults and free for senior citizens and kids 12 and under.
In case of rain on April 27, the event will be made up on Saturday, May 4. Check www.wc.edu for the latest information.
