Unique art from pottery to paintings will line Texas Hall in Weatherford College’s Alkek Fine Arts Center starting Monday, April 7. The exhibition lasts through April 25 with an artists’ reception planned for 6 p.m. Monday, April 21.
The show will feature a variety of media including ebony, charcoal, scratchboard, acrylic, oil, watercolor, colored pencil, clay, copper, plaster and mixed media in a wide range of subject matter and technique. Art work will be offered for exhibition and for sale.
Art students at Weatherford College hail from a variety of backgrounds, ages, cultures and hometowns which are reflected in their creations. The reception will provide an opportunity for the budding artists to meet with other art lovers.
“This is an exceptional group of students who have produced unique and exciting works,” Visual Arts Program Director Myrlan Coleman said. “Each student seems to work in their own individual style and technique, and yet they all appear to be excited about learning to try new things. They are looking forward to having the opportunity to exhibit their talents and skills.”
The art show and reception are free and open to the public.
