There is still time to register for Weatherford College’s free Interdisciplinary Academic Conference happening Thursday, Feb. 28, and Friday, March 1 on the Weatherford campus.
Featuring 39 different presentations, the conference’s theme is based upon the college’s sesquicentennial, reflecting on the past and looking to the future of academia. Unlike most academic conferences that tend to be narrowly focused discipline-wise, this conference instead takes an interdisciplinary approach with a varied array of presentations.
Jon Vandagriff, Weatherford historian and author of “Weatherford College: The First 150 Years,” is the featured speaker at the conference. His talk is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, in ACAD 104.
Dr. Scott Tarnowieckyi, professor of history and chair of the WC Social Science Department, is serving as the key organizer of the event.
The public is invited to attend, and registration is requested at www.wc.edu/wc-interdiscip-conf. A full listing of sessions is also available on the web site.
