In keeping with tradition, the Parker County Community Choir will perform selections from Handel’s Messiah at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, in the Alkek Fine Arts Center at Weatherford College. Doors open at 7 p.m., and admission is free.
Community members from across the WC service area have dedicated their time to rehearse and perform this concert for the past 15 years.
“To take time out of their busy schedules and add another responsibility of coming to an hour and a half rehearsal every Monday night since August, I think speaks to how much they get out of singing in a quality group,” said director Rob Laney.
And each year the community responds in kind with their attendance.
“We should appreciate how much we have to celebrate: a timeless Christmas story, access to beautiful classical music and an administration that supports a free concert of fine culture in a rural area,” Laney said.
