Jeff Kahlden, Director of the Upward Bound Program at Weatherford College, has been elected treasurer of the Council for Opportunity in Education Board of Directors. Kahlden was recently sworn in as the treasurer at COE’s annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia. He recently served on the board as a representative for the southwest region for the past three years.
The Council for Opportunity in Education is a nonprofit organization, established in 1981, dedicated to furthering the expansion of college opportunities for low-income, first-generation students, veterans and students with disabilities in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., the Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, Guam and Puerto Rico. Its membership includes more than 1,000 colleges and agencies.
