Weatherford College officials announced Tuesday that they have asked Dr. Matt Joiner to remain at the college’s Wise County campus, and that he has agreed. Joiner had announced in July that he would be departing WC to join the administration of North Central Texas College as its Dean of eLearning.
“I am very pleased that Dr. Joiner has accepted the position of Dean of our WCWC campus,” said Dr. Kevin Eaton, WC President. “Matt is a proven leader that is sure to grow the WCWC campus in the coming years. He is the right person for the job, and we feel fortunate to have him.”
Joiner, who currently serves as WCWC’s Associate Dean, will now serve as the Campus Dean and will assume additional administrative and supervisory responsibilities.
“Wise County is my home,” Joiner said. “I’m looking forward to taking the next step in my admini-
strative career close to home with the friends I’ve grown to know and love over all these years. There are many good things in store for WCWC and its students, faculty, and staff. This is a good thing.”
Joiner has worked for WC in Wise County since 2005. The WCWC campus, a state-of-the-art facility located between Bridgeport and Decatur, opened in 2012.
“Weatherford College is committed to Wise County for the long haul,” Eaton said. “We have a beautiful Wise County campus and the great people that make up our WCWC faculty, staff and administration always put students first.”
