Dr. Alex Ibe will present at the North Texas Community College Consortium’s 8th Annual Spring Leadership Conference Scaling the Pyramid: How to Meet Students' Basic Needs and Build Scaffolds to Academic Success on Friday, Jan. 25, at Collin College’s Plano Campus.
The topic of his presentation, Identifying Barriers Preventing Marginalized Populations from Successfully Entering/Completing College, is based on discussions held during previous Dean’s Forums.
Ibe is the senior author of the report, with contributions made by Dr. Daniel O’Meara, Dr. Laura Overstreet, Dr. Bill Alexander, Dr. Norma Jones and Suzie Jary.
“This topic is very germane to the conversations taking place at community colleges in terms of how we, faculty and staff, can better support our students in navigating the college landscape,” O’Meara said.
The 2019 Spring Leadership Conference is expected to draw close to 200 administrators, faculty, and staff representing over 28 different institutions.
