Community welcomes Dr. Tod Allen Farmer as newest WC president

The Weatherford College Board of Trustees voted unanimously to name Dr. Tod Allen Farmer the college’s 18th president in a called meeting Friday.

Farmer, who currently serves as chief of staff for Tarleton State University President Dr. Dominic Dottavio, will begin his duties as WC president on May 14.

In Friday’s meeting, Board Chair Mac Smith thanked Brent Baker for serving as interim president since June 2017
and for the extra efforts over the past year of Executive Vice President of Financial and Administrative Affairs Dr. Andra Cantrell, WC’s general counsel Dan Curlee, Executive Assistant to the President Theresa Hutchison

“This board has worked hard to get through these meetings and make the best selection we felt was possible, and I think that’s been done,” Smith said. “We are so proud of the finalist and now the new president of Weatherford College and we want to welcome him to the campus and to the job.”

 Following a contract signing, Farmer was welcomed by the 
 community at a reception hosted by the Weatherford Chamber of
 Commerce in Texas Hall of the Alkek Fine Arts Center.

 “For me coming home to Weatherford College is a dream come
 true,” 
Farmer said. “There is literally no place on earth I would
 rather be.”
