Candy to abound at annual Safe Halloween

Safe Halloween.

Break out your Halloween costumes because it’s time to trick-or-treat at the 15th annual Safe Halloween hosted by the Weatherford College Police Department. Festivities will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, in the Couts parking lot on College Park Drive.

Approximately 30 booths will be set up with candy, games and all kinds of family-friendly, spooky fun.

But before the festivities open up to the entire community, families are invited to bring their special needs children from 5 to 6 p.m. for a more relaxing atmosphere.

Later in the evening, keep an eye on the stage for a costume contest hosted by the Weatherford Public Library.

Safe Halloween also serves as a canned food drive for the Senior Center, and everyone who attends is encouraged to bring at least one canned food item to donate at the entrance. And the WCPD is still collecting bags of candy from the community for distribution at Safe Halloween.
