The Weatherford College Teacher Certification Program is now accepting applications for the next program starting this summer. The deadline is March 23.

During the 2016-17 academic year, 26 teacher candidates certified through teaching in 15 school districts including Weatherford, Granbury, Mineral Wells, White Settlement, Fort Worth, Bridgeport, Santo, Crowley, Cleburne, Kennedale and Castleberry.

Summer teacher candidates will be able to apply for fall teaching positions after they complete 150 clock hours of teacher preparation coursework and pass their certification tests.

The Weatherford College Teacher Certification Program is a hybrid program with some classes offered face-to-face and some online.

“This program has a 100 percent pass rate on content and certification tests,” said Dr. Joyce Melton Pages, Director of WC’s Department of Education and Teacher Certification. “Previously administered certification tests have been purchased to provide feedback that supports strategic review of college degree content and supports certification test success. In addition, this program provides strong support during each teacher’s first year in the classroom.”
