A full slate of golfers enjoyed beautiful weather and scenery while contributing to a good cause at the 13th annual Weatherford College Foundation Golf Tournament Oct. 18 at Canyon West Golf Club.
The team of Tim Mauser; Dr. Trev Dixon; Randall Carpenter and Jeff Lightfoot won the tournament by shooting an 18-under 54 in the scramble.
“We can’t thank our sponsors and participants enough,” said Brent Baker, WC’s vice president of institutional advancement. “We had a great turnout, and the community really backed this event. Thanks again to everyone involved.”
Title sponsors for the event included Johnson Controls, Steele & Freeman and Texas Book Company. Other sponsors included First Financial Bank; Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford; Jerry Durant Auto Group; Plains Capital Bank; Chicken Express; the Weatherford Democrat; First Financial Trust; HUB International Insurance; Progressive Waste Solutions; Prosperity Bank; Weatherford Regional Medical Center; All Star Clips; McDonald Sanders; Teague Nall & Perkins and Weatherford Aerospace.
“Thanks to the sponsors, golfers, and the Title III matching grant program, more than $47,000 will be added to the WC Foundation scholarship endowment because of this event,” said Baker. “We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day, and we appreciate all of the community’s support.
“This was the first of many years at Canyon West,” said Baker. “The course was beautiful.”
