FAQs for Academic Support Center

Where is Academic Support Center located?

The Academic Support Center is housed on the lower level of the Liberal Arts building.

When do I have to have my required tutorial hours completed?

Some Math instructors require that your tutorial hours be completed and turned in two weeks before the end of the semester. Other instructors require that hours be turned in on a scheduled basis. Check with your instructor to be sure.

What do I have to do to complete tutorial hours?

You must come to the Academic Support Center  and work in the course for which you need tutorial hours. For example, if you need math hours, you must work in math. You can complete homework assignments, watch videos, or work in computer programs, but you must work in the course for which you are signed in.

What if I forgot my tutorial log sheet at home? Will I still receive credit for the time I spent in the Academic Support Center?

If you forgot to bring your log sheet you can ask one of the Academic Support Center personnel
to give you a new one with the time you spent that day listed. Bring both sheets in the next time you come and a staff member will combine the two sheets.

Why do I have to come to the Academic Support Center?

Tutorial hours are required for all students in a TSI-required math class. However, coming to
the Academic Support Center is a great place to study! We have tutors in a variety of subjects scheduled throughout the week to assist you. In addition to Math, we have tutors for Anatomy & Physiology (A&P), Chemistry, Physics, Spanish, and more. Stop in and see how we can help you succeed!

How can I find out how many tutorial hours I have completed and how many more hours are left to complete the required number of hours?

Ask a Academic Support Center staff member for the form used to request your total hours to date. Most often you can pick up a print-out of your hours the next afternoon.
