Nursing Refresher for RNs & LVNs

This program is designed for:

1)  The currently licensed nurse (RN/LVN) who has been away fro the clinical setting for a period of time (typically more than 4 years) and wants a good medical/surgical refresher before going back to the clinical setting;

2)  The nurse that is applying for reinstatement of their Texas nursing license and needs to complete a "refresher course"; or

3)  The nurse that is applying for Texas nursing licensure coming fron another state/country (nurse must be eligible for Texas licensure).

The following objectives are established by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners (ww.bne.state.tx.us), for successful reinstatement of a nursing license, and are covered in this program; current nursing roles in the clinical setting; nursing process to include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation; systems review; skills review; pharmacology review; medication administration; documentation, quality assurance and legal implications for nursing practice; and a RN supervised clinical experience (preceptorship) providing direct patient care.

Note: CPR is not included in this program. CPR courses are available through Weatherford College, and are required for relicensure as well as for participation in the clinical perceptorship. Call Continuing Education, 817-598-8870 for times/dates for CPR courses.
