Academic Year
All students meet bi-weekly on the Weatherford College campus for Supplemental Instruction and College Preparation classes.
Other services provided:
- academic advisement
- tutorial assistance in Math, Science and English
- financial aid counseling
- career counseling
- ACT test preparation
- assistance for seniors applying to the college of the student's choice
- assist seniors with applying for financial aid necessary to finance a college degree
The program is free to the students, plus they receive monthly stipends.
Summer Program
All students live on the Weatherford College campus in dormitories for six weeks (June to mid July). During that time period the students will:
- attend Upward Bound classes stressing "hands-on" experience in Math, Science, and English
- attend various elective classes such as Vocabulary, Theater, Spanish, Forensic Science, etc.
- Expand cultural and social experience through things such as, group activities, tours of museums, zoos, historical sites, science centers, team building activities and much more.
All expenses (dorm room, three meals per day, classes, activities, etc.) are free to the students, plus they receive weekly stipends.
Bridge
Upon graduation from high school, Upward Bound seniors enter the UB Bridge Program. Designed to give the graduates a head-start on college, the students enroll in 2 Weatherford College courses . Upward Bound pays all costs associated with the student's participation in the bridge program (including: tuition, fees, books, room and board).
