  • After submitting my application and paperwork to the nursing program,
    how will I know if I am accepted or not?
    • Letters will be sent out to all applicants approximately six weeks after the deadline.
  • Can I substitute a different entrance exam for the TEAS test?
    No. The Associate Degree Nursing and the LVN - RN Transition programs accept only
    the TEAS test.
  • Can I take the TEAS at another college?
    Yes
  • How long is the waiting list for the nursing program?
    Weatherford College Nursing Department does not keep a waiting list. The class is selected on a point system. If applicant does not have enough points to be selected, applicant will need to retake prerequisite courses for a better grade, retake TEAS test, and/or take co-requisite courses to increase selection points; and then reapply to the nursing program.
  • How many points does it take to be selected to the Associate Degree Nursing program?
    Every year is different.
  • How many points does it take to be selected to the LVN - RN Transition Program?
    Every year is different.
  • How many times can I take the entrance exam for the nursing program?
    You are allowed to take the TEAS test twice within a six-month period as long as there
    is a minimum of one week between test dates.
  • What if there is a tie in cumulative points, what is the tiebreaker?
    For the Associate Degree Nursing and LVN - RN Transition programs, the first tiebreaker is the highest Adjusted Individual Total Score on the TEAS test. Occasionally, this score
    is the same, and then the next tiebreaker is how many times an applicant has taken the prerequisite courses to make the grade.This does not apply to applicants repeating science courses because of the five year time frame.
  • What is a competitive GPA for the Associate Degree Nursing and LVN - RN transition programs?
    Usually a 3.0 GPA or higher on the prerequisite courses (BIOL 2401, BIOL 2402, BIOL 2421, and college level math) is competitive. However, an applicant with a 2.5 GPA on these courses can still be selected if they score high on the TEAS test to make up points. Of course, every year is different.
