Agricultural Animal Breeding Certificate

After completing the designated one-year curriculum, students will receive a certificate in Agricultural Animal Breeding. This program is also incorporated into a two-year, Agricultural Animal Breeding A.A.S. Provisions have been made for Tech-Prep participation.

Students receive training in all areas of bovine and equine management as well as training in economic theories associated with profitable management of breeding ranches and horse farms. Students are exposed to various situations encompassing theory and hands-on experience in the agricultural field. Program content and competencies are reviewed and endorsed by the agricultural advisory committee comprised of leaders in the agriculture industry and agri-business as well as four-year institutions.

Graduates will be trained to enter a wide range of career opportunities. This includes artificial insemination technician, semen salesperson, semen collection in bovine and equine, lab processing, animal handling, lab technician, diagnostic ultrasound and micromanipulation in embryo transfer and collection.
