Loan Limits and Interest Rates

Please note: It is Weatherford College's policy that if a student has a total student loan accumulated outstanding balance of $57,500 either while attending WC or attending another institution, students will not be eligible for any further loan awards. This is part of the WC's default prevention policy.

DEPENDENT student undergraduate Limits
Freshman *$5,500 per academic year
Sophomore *$6,500 per academic year
Maximum total debt from Direct Loans $31,000 ( no more than $23,000 of that
total may be in subsidized loans).
*$3,500 maximum in subsidized loans


INDEPENDENT students undergraduate loan limits
Subsidized Loans Unsubsidized Loans/Total per Academic Year
Freshman $3,500/Academic Year $4,000/$9,500 per Academic Year
Sophomore $4,500/Academic Year $4,000/$10,500 per Academic Year
