On your mark, get set, go! Weatherford College officials are gearing up for another Coyote Chase Race 5K and 1-mile run/walk Saturday, Nov. 21. The Weatherford College Foundation hosts the race as a fundraiser for its scholarship program.
Over 500 people participated in last year's event.
"It's a tradition for many of our area runners, especially the elementary schools, to run the Coyote Chase Race," said Brent Baker, race director. "We have runners of all ages competing, and we always have a good time."
Elementary schools are invited to participate in the annual "School Challenge" and are encouraged to bring as many students, family members, teachers and friends to compete for trophies and recognition. The school bringing the most runners will win a large trophy and bragging rights for the next year. For more information about the Coyote Chase School challenge, call Linda Bagwell at 817-598-6274 or e-mail
