Weatherford College nursing program grads excel on state exams!
The largest graduating class ever - 55 - of the Weatherford College Associate Degree Nursing Program in May 2011 has achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) on the first attempt. The exam, which measures the competencies needed to perform safely and effectively as a newly licensed, entry-level nurse, is required by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
“Additionally, this group achieved the highest retention rate for the program to date, so double honors for all of them,” said ADN program director Cheryl Livengood, RN, MSN. “This ranks WC ADN program among the elite few programs both state-wide and nationally who are able to obtain this level of success.
“My thanks to the graduates for all of their hard work and to my faculty who gave to this group - and who continue to give - 150 percent and beyond of teaching, mentoring, individual tutorial and counseling time to achieve these successes.”
