Scholarship funds were raised through the sponsorship of and participation in the annual WC Tech Prep Scholarship Golf Tournament. (Tech Prep is a national initiative that allows students to earn tuition-free college credits for high school technical courses that have been aligned with their corresponding college courses. These credits can be used to satisfy a portion of the requirements that lead to an associate in applied science degree at the college. This educational pathway provides marketable skills for immediate entry into the job market or preparation for further study at the university.) The Texas Army National Guard awarded a $2,500 scholarship to Andrea Wright of Brock High School, and Jacobs Engineering provided $2,000 to Stephen Grover of Weatherford High School. "As a community based organization, we realize the importance of a quality education, and this is why we have teamed with Weatherford College to help young men and women achieve their goals," said SGT. Edward Herrera.
