In its February meeting, the Weatherford College Board of Trustees voted to approve the addition of a new program in gaming technology, and pending final approval from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating board, it will begin in the fall 2010. The College is offering a free informational session about the program itself and the emerging career field of game design and animation Monday, March 29. The session, facilitated by a representative from South Peak Games in Grapevine, is scheduled at 1 p.m. in the Boyd Tech Building, Room 201, on the WC Weatherford campus, 225 College Park.
Gaming technicians create 2D/3D animation through the use of high-end software for a variety of industries, including entertainment, advertising and corporate communications.
All those interested in a career in gaming technology are encouraged to attend the free session.
