The 41 graduates of the Weatherford College Associate Degree Nursing Program in May 2009 have achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), marking the fourth consecutive year for such success by WC students. The exam, which measures the competencies needed to perform safely and effectively as a newly licensed, entry-level nurse, is required by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
"This 100 percent pass rate is an accomplishment achieved by only a small percentage of professional nursing programs annually, and this marks the fourth year in a row that WC has achieved this high standard," said ADN Department Chair Cheryl Livengood RN, MSN. "I am very proud of and appreciative for the efforts made by both the students and the faculty in achieving this goal. This is just one more measure of the standard of excellence that the nursing department strives for every day!"
