The Eatons' donation will establish a general academic scholarship, provide funds for G.E.D. students, and support WC athletics.

"This is a very generous gift, and the WC Foundation is extremely appreciative," said Dr. Mike White, foundation president. "Kevin and Sheila have always been supportive, but this is beyond our expectations."

The WC Board of Trustees made Eaton's presidential appointment official on January 14. The West Texas native joined the college in 2002 as Tech Prep director and became interim president in July of 2009.

"Sheila and I are honored to be employees of Weatherford College," Eaton said.  "The College has blessed both of us for many years, and we wanted to take this opportunity to reciprocate. We hope that our donation, and future donations, will allow many students to achieve the dream of a college education."

In the last two years, WC employees have donated over $35,000 to the foundation to support scholarships and other college programs.

"In this economy, students need more help than ever," White said. "Our foundation looks forward to a wonderful working relationship with Kevin, the WC Board of Trustees, and the entire faculty and staff in raising funds to help make students' dreams come true."

Established in 1978, the WC Foundation is an independent charitable foundation with the mission of supporting Weatherford College and its students.
